Configuring EdgeRouter X

I got an EdgeRouter to start delving into some more advanced home networking stuff and set up dynamic DNS, VPN et.c without having to keep my desktop constantly running.

Initial setup

After a factory reset, here is what I do to configure ER-X as a router getting internet from the ISP's modem and routing it to my local network:

connect client to eth0
navigate to https://192.168.1.1
run the initial config wizzard
- default values
- set the address to 10.0.0.1/24 because my ISP's router is already using 192.168.1.1/24
- make sure ER-X's DHCPd is enabled
apply, reboot and navigate to https://10.0.0.1
connect the ISP's modem to eth0

WLAN

I also got an Access point since ER-X doesn't have wifi, and my AP supports PoE. Thus, taking the PoE passthrough of ER-X into account, the connectivity is like so:
